Local charity and OT partners benefit from Southpaw spring clean

A clearance of ex-demo stock at our East Midlands’ distribution centre has benefited both a deserving local charity and two of our OT partners.

A cheque for £245 is winging its way to Nottinghamshire-based PASIC, which offers support to children and young adults who are battling cancer, while Jigsaw Occupational Therapy and Beanstalk Children’s Therapy are about to get a special delivery of some of our ex-demo equipment.

“The last thing we wanted to do was see ex-demo equipment be thrown out and so we contacted our OT network and asked if, for a small charitable donation, anyone had a need for any items on our clear-out list,” explained Mike Brooke, National Sales Manager.

The products were snapped up by Jigsaw and Beanstalk with both organisations kindly donating to our chosen charity for 2021, PASIC in Nottingham.

Mike added: “We are delighted to see the equipment go to two great organisations! Both Jigsaw and Beanstalk are valued partners of Southpaw and both have supported us and our vision since the inception of Southpaw UK.”

Jigsaw Occupational Therapy, based in West Sussex, acquired the Advantage Line 2-in-1 Bolster Swing & Trapeze Bar, the Jump & Play Island, and the Seal Air Mat. Dominic Simpson, from Jigsaw, said: “We jumped at the chance to obtain some more of Southpaw’s specialist equipment. It’s been a fundamental element of the critical services we provide to vulnerable children and young people.

“The fact that a fantastic charity would benefit from ourselves obtaining the products gives us great satisfaction, too. We can’t wait to receive the new products and look forward to continuing to work collaboratively with Southpaw in the future.”

Essex-based Beanstalk Children’s Therapy chose the Southpaw Variable Axis Swing & Footrest to add to their sensory integration therapy offering. Lara Breaker-Rolf (Director) from Beanstalk Children's Therapy said: “Our team of Specialist Paediatric Occupational Therapists are delighted to have been involved in this joint venture. Items such as this are invaluable to our work with children who have Sensory Integration difficulties. It’s also nice that a very deserving children’s charity is going to benefit from this too. Thank you for making it happen Southpaw!”

Southpaw is committed to working alongside skilled, expert occupational therapists to provide the very best sensory integration therapy support. We are always looking for ways we can work with the occupational therapy community in order to develop and source the very best equipment to help them provide quality care and support for their clients.
