The Southpaw Linear Glider is an excellent tool for providing vestibular input, increasing balance, addressing weight shifting abilities, and promoting bilateral coordination. This versatile tool is suitable for individuals of all ages and abilities and can be used for a wide range of activities.

One of the primary physical benefits of using the Southpaw Linear Glider is that it provides vestibular input. The vestibular system is responsible for processing sensory information related to movement and balance. By using the Linear Glider, individuals can engage their vestibular system in a safe and controlled environment, which can help improve their balance, coordination, and spatial awareness.

In addition to promoting vestibular input, the Southpaw Linear Glider also helps address weight shifting abilities. Weight shifting is the ability to transfer one's weight from one side of the body to the other, which is an essential skill for maintaining balance and stability. By using the Linear Glider, individuals can practice weight shifting in a dynamic and engaging way, which can help improve their overall motor coordination.

The Southpaw Linear Glider is particularly useful in schools and clinics because it can be used for a wide range of activities. For example, it can be used to promote balance and coordination during gross motor activities, such as climbing and jumping. It can also be used to facilitate bilateral coordination during fine motor activities, such as writing and drawing.

Southpaw's Linear Glider is an excellent tool for occupational therapists, physical therapists, and educators who work with individuals who have sensory processing difficulties or motor coordination challenges. Its adjustable working load and versatile design make it suitable for individuals of all ages and abilities. Whether you are looking to promote vestibular input, weight shifting abilities, or bilateral coordination, the Southpaw Linear Glider is a versatile and effective tool that can help you achieve your goals.

Both models feature a platform with removable carpet, and suspension ropes with stabilising rungs. The platform edges are covered in upholstery-grade vinyl for extra protection.

Eyebolt installation required, see our Safety page. Custom Support Structures are an option for spaces without eyebolt.

If you are looking to have a Southpaw swing installed on a ceiling by anyone other than Southpaw UK engineers - then the installation of forged ceiling eyebolts is your responsibility, and must be to the proper specifications. We always recommend that you have the ceiling tested by a structural engineer to ensure that your ceiling can carry the appropriate working loads. Please read our Safety and Working Loads pages thoroughly. Other elements of safety include the layout of the clinic or therapy space, the implementation of a systematic equipment inspection program, proper matting, and personal protection.
